Invented by Robert J. Gyurik and Vassilios J. and patented in 1975, Albendazole is a medication that is used for the treatment of a variety of parasitic worm infestations. As for its side effects, Albendazole may make you feel nausea, abdominal pains, and headaches, although there are other side effects that are potentially serious, such as bone marrow suppression which usually improves on stopping the medication. In addition, liver inflammation has also been reported, and those with prior liver problems are indeed at greater risk. It is worth noting that Albendazole is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy, and therefore, it should be avoided up to one month before conception.
